Del Mar is a stylish beach community in north county San Diego, California. Those of us who live here regard San Diego as "paradise." The ocean-side beach towns along the coast north of San Diego - what we who live here call "North County" - is even more heavenly.

Our "paradise" here in north San Diego consists of several lovely, quaint beach towns: Solana Beach, Carlsbad, Del Mar and Encinitas are each drenched in the cooling breezes of the ocean while being showered with sunshine. Our communities have fascinating hotels, inns and resorts, extraordinary restaurants and dazzling beaches.

Del Mar Ca has a very long record of celebrities living and playing here due to the Del Mar horse racing track built under the guidance and inspiration of Jimmy Durante and Bing Crosby nearly 70 years ago. Their Hollywood star-power put the Del Mar Horse Race Track on the map as one of the most ritzy and prominent associations in the racing world. The Del Mar horse track brought a steady steam of well-known Los Angeles and New York celebrities to the Del Mar hotels and motels, and dozens of Del Mar inns and resorts prospered as a result.

Del Mar Ca hotels, inns and lodging accommodations are breathtaking, but pricey. One of the most exquisite Del Mar hotels is along the shores of the ocean - it's the ageless L'Auberge Del Mar, a San Diego resort that, as they say, "Celebrates the extraordinary connection we all have with the stillness, comfort and relaxation of the ocean."

Ranked among the best luxury resorts in the country by Conde Nast, L'Auberge Del Mar hotel brings together panoramic coastal views, casual elegance and personalized service to create an outstanding romantic weekend getaway at a Del Mar resort.

The age-old San Diego County Fair has been held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds every summer. Locals refer to it as the Del Mar Fair - no one ever calls it the San Diego County Fair. The fair's location is perfect because it is only several blocks from the refreshingly cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean on the first hot days of summer. If you decide to visit the fair, make sure you get reservations for accommodation before hand from any of the Del Mar inns or Del Mar hotels.

Of all the Del Mar bed and breakfasts and Del Mar hotels, the only one that is quaint, romantic and close to the beach for under $200 a night is Ann Dunham's Del Mar Bed and Breakfast.

Del Mar California is one of few locations in the world where the Torrey Pine grows. The Torrey Pine is the one of the rarest pine trees in the United States - the Monterey cypress is rarer, but it's not technically a pine tree. The Torrey pines along the sea cliffs of Del Mar endure persistent drought and grow in hard sand which can hardly be called "soil". They are blasted by storms, soaked in salt spay and cooked in the sun, but they live stubbornly on.

Author Terry Hunefeld moved to Southern California from Michigan in 1998. Hunefeld travels extensively around the United States. He is the owner of a San Diego Bed and Breakfast Inn across the street from the Pacific Ocean. For more info, click Bed and Breakfasts in Del Mars or Bed and Breakfasts in Del Mar.

Dr. Michael Pritsker is a chiropractor at New Century Spine Centers in San Diego. In this article, he reveals some of the latest research. According to a Study published in the Journal of Physiology on November 1, 2010, "A fat-rich energy dense diet is an important cause of insulin resistance."

Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas and it helps the cells of the body absorb glucose. Insulin resistance is a condition in which the body produces insulin but does not use it properly. When people are insulin resistant, their muscle, fat, and liver cells do not respond properly to insulin. As a result, their bodies need more insulin to help glucose enter cells. The pancreas produces more and more insulin until it basically gets worn out and starts to fail. This can lead to diabetes.

According to the study's author, "This study, for the first time, shows that fasted training is more potent than fed training to facilitate adaptations in muscle and to improve whole-body glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity during hyper-caloric fatrich diets." This shows that it is all linked to exercise.

From this it may be obtained that the best time to work out may seem to be on an empty stomach. This is usually first thing in the morning. Working out in the morning also has some additional great benefits. Generally after working out in the morning, the day seems to be more productive and you get more done. And of course on top of this it's always great to start off the day knowing that you got a healthy workout out of the way.

New Century Spine Centers in San Diego has regular healthy classes monthly at their Mission Valley location. The classes are free of charge but you must be pre-registered to attend. They go over great stretches, exercises and more. This is a class you won't want to miss. To register, contact them at 619-630-9153.

Looking to find the best therapy for arthritis pain, then visit www.BackCareTreatment.com to get a new free video on spine decompression therapy and how it can help you.

Today, San Diego is one of the most popular places to live in, due to its diversity, and paradise-like weather and climate. However, it's not just people that find the city appealing to live in, because there are a number of pets in the city as well! These pets are owned by thousands of animal lovers, of which the city is also famous for, which is why there are a number of animal attractions found in and around the area, the most famous of which is perhaps the San Diego Zoo.

The 107 acres that make house the San Diego Zoo has over 4,000 animals within its borders, which have been selected from over 800 different species of beasts. Each animal is able to live and thrive in the zoo, due to the area's climate, its size, and the tender loving care given by the animal handlers. The weather and location of the zoo also make it very welcoming for the people who are visiting on a regular basis.

Despite its size, however, the zoo is very friendly to visitors, because it is very easy to actually get around the place even if it's your first time. The presence of multiple transportation options, like buses that can bring people to around 75% of the park, to the Skyfari, a gondola lift system that brings people around while giving them a bird's eye view, make going around easy. And if you fancy walking around, there are many walkways that can bring anyone to almost anywhere in the zoo.

Whether it's by walking, taking the bus, or flying overhead on the Skyfari, visitors will be treated to a number of open air attractions. Like the open air bird exhibit that showcases the biggest free-flight aviaries on the planet! And there are also many indoor, yet smaller exhibits to enjoy, many of which have been made to have the same characteristics as the natural habitats of the animals showcased inside.

Any animal lover visiting San Diego has to drop by San Diego Zoo. The zoo is one of the most famous attractions in the city. It is definitely a must see place for everyone!

1. Visit Old Town and witness the living legacy of San Diego history. Guests wander through Old Town's historic buildings, including the blacksmith shop, Seeley Stables and the oldest schoolhouse in San Diego. Some visit Old Town for shopping - some of the shops carry very nice handicrafts. Others like to have a big platter of tacos and enchiladas washed down with a margarita while still others poke around inside the historic buildings, imagining life in early California.

2. Visit La Jolla Cove and watch magnificent sunsets on the ocean. La Jolla Cove is one of the most spectacular natural settings in the world with tide pools for exploring at low tide. A trip down into "the" Cave (via the Cave Store) takes you through a manmade tunnel down, down, down until you enter the unusual and breathtaking Sunny Jim Cave. You can also enter the cave from the sea (via kayak) along with the other six ocean-carved caves, but Sunny Jim is the only sea cave in California that you can access from a stairway. Sunny Jim Cave is so cool that the Encyclopedia Americana calls it one of the "must" sights in Southern California.

3. Visit downtown San Diego's Seaport Village for hours of free entertainment, leisurely strolling and window-shopping. Here you can explore 50-plus diverse shops, 17 unique eateries and outdoor entertainment and find everything under the sun. Enjoy a laid-back day of hanging out in the grass, watching yachts and ships go by on picturesque San Diego Bay or take in the sights and absorb the unique atmosphere from one of the many bay-view eateries.

4. Spend a cool, relaxing day at the enormous (4,000 plus acres!) Mission Bay Park surrounding Mission Bay. Many families pack the car and spend the day here. They bring bikes, scooters, camping chairs and foldable picnic tables. On the way to the park be sure to pick up a bunch of take-out food... (we recommend Rubio's or Filberto's) and pack a cooler full of drinks and extra snacks. Bring the badminton set and books, crosswords and Sudoku puzzles. It's a great place to relax or bike or walk along the sidewalks. Just find a nice spot under one of the many trees and either catch some sun or fall asleep in the shade. On warm days you get a cool breeze from the bay and the ocean. Oh, and you can bring your dog too. This is America's Finest City, get outside and enjoy it!

5. Grab your beach towel and Coppertone and get to one of dozens of San Diego beaches (they are all free) and swim, jog, boogie-board, read a spy novel, watch world-class surfers or just bake in the sun. Alcohol is prohibited on all San Diego beaches. Both South Mission Beach and Ocean Beach are hotspots for beach volleyball. Ocean Beach has six courts, and South Mission Beach has 15 courts.

Terry Hunefeld took early retirement from his position as a CEO to pursue his passion of sailing the world's oceans observing seabirds and marine mammals. Terry and his wife purchased and now operate a quiet, intimate B&B in the little surfing community of Encinitas near San Diego. For more information visit: B&Bs in San Diego or San Diego Hotels and Inns.

The beautiful city of San Diego, known for its pristine beaches, its perfect weather, its warm and diverse population, and its position at the forefront of trends and pop culture. Of the many things that make San Diego truly memorable, however, the one thing that truly stands out is the fact that it is a beautiful city by the sea, a city of the sea. Which is why it has one of the most famous tourist attractions around, the world famous SeaWorld San Diego.

San Diego's SeaWorld is the very first SeaWorld ever built, a water park filled with many other amenities and facilities, like restaurants, exhibits, and many entertaining shows that give both locals and tourists a sneak peek at the sea's beauty. The most famous of these attractions, however, is the Shamu show, an orca show named after Shamu, the park's mascot. And what makes this SeaWorld important in particular is the fact that it was in this SeaWorld that Shamu first found her home, and has been her followers' home ever since.

But there's more to SeaWorld than just the Shamu show, because in addition to the Shamu show and the many aquatic exhibits, there's also a bunch of other shows, like the "Sea Lions Tonite", a parody of the late night comedy talk shows, starring sea lions! There's also Pets Rule, a show that features a number of non-marine animals like dogs, cats, and birds! And then there's the extravaganza called the Cirque de Mer, or Circus of the Sea, which is a show filled with acrobatics, dancing, and spectacular effects!

And when people are done being entertained by animals, they can get wet and have fun at the same time in SeaWorld's theme park rides! Shipwreck Rapids is one example, a very fast, high-octane ride set to splash and drench its riders, and the 6-minute thrill ride that is Journey to Atlantis. For both rides, people are encouraged, in fact even required, to bring their own plastic ziplock bags to keep their items from being wet.

Of the many attractions found in San Diego, SeaWorld is perhaps the closest to the sea anyone will ever get without needing to go beyond the beach. It is a true icon of San Diego, and one of the best attractions, not just in the city, but in the country. People going to the city are highly encouraged to keep SeaWorld at the top of their "to-visit" list.

The chiropractors at the San Diego office are now making it more affordable than ever for those suffering from disc pain and injury to get the treatment they need without breaking the bank. In this struggling economy, finding the right chiropractor at the right cost is very important. Spinal decompression therapy and chiropractic care are great options for the treatment of back and leg pain, but the price tag may be too hard for some to afford. Dr. Michael Pritsker is one of the chiropractors at New Century Spine Centers.

For some people with disc degeneration, these options have been described by some as a miracle and the treatment that eliminated all their pain and solved their problem. Unfortunately for some, the cost of treatment is more than they can bear and patients are left suffering in pain. With insurance companies covering less treatment options and insurance premiums going up every year, there must be more affordable options. Spinal disc bulges and disc herniations can cause conditions such as sciatica, thoracic outlet syndrome, leg pain, numbness, neuralgia, neuropathy, back pain and more. Some of the most common treatment options for these conditions are chiropractic care, massage therapy and spinal decompression therapy with the DRX900 and similar machines.

Dr. Carissa Hang, DC is a chiropractor at New Century Spine Centers. She states "many times we have a patient who we know we can help, but sometimes affording the treatment for them can be the most difficult." With the high technology for the newer back ache treatment equipment, of course comes higher price tags. And with insurance companies paying less and less, the end result is that the patient ends up having to cover the cost.

Dr. Michael Pritsker, DC and the other chiropractic doctors at New Century Spine Centers are teaming up with other health professionals to find ways to help patients suffering from back and leg ache get the treatment they need. There are primarily three effective treatment options for sciatica and arthritis, but many patients may find it difficult to afford regular care. These three treatment options are chiropractic care, spinal decompression treatment, and massage treatment.

The chiropractors at San Diego's New Century Spine Centers try to assist many patients to help make their chiropractic care affordable by being in network on many insurance plans including Blue Shield, Blue Cross, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, American Specialty Health Plans and more. Chiropractic care in San Diego by licensed chiropractors is a great treatment option for those suffering from whiplash from a car accident, sciatica from disc injury, arm pain from thoracic outlet syndrome, and back pain from sprains and strains. They also offer affordable financing and monthly payment options. New Century Spine Centers also offers an affordable initial exam to find out if you are a candidate for chiropractic care. The first visit can be as low as $17 with a coupon that can be printed off their website.

Spinal decompression therapy has been shown in some cases to be an effective treatment option for degenerative disc disease, spine pain, sciatica, herniated discs, bulging discs, back pain, facet syndrome, whiplash, numbness and tingling. Compared to some spinal disc surgery, spinal decompression can be an affordable treatment option costing thousands less than spinal fusion.

Massage therapy in San Diego is a great treatment option for muscle spasms, tension, stress, headaches, sprains and strains. Massage is an effective form of therapy, but regular massage therapy can end up being costly. With more and more Chinese reflexology massage centers popping up throughout San Diego, massage is becoming more affordable than ever. However, making sure that you get the right massage for your condition can become difficult. The chiropractors at New Century Spine Centers have searched throughout San Diego for the best and most affordable massage center and they recommend the upcoming Happy Head Foot Reflexology and Massage center in Hillcrest. Their price for a foot reflexology massage is only $29 and they will be working closely with chiropractors and other health professionals to offer the best and right massage. Their website for more massage information in San Diego is http://www.HappyHeadMassage.com. They are scheduled to open in June 2011.

New Century Spine Centers is located in mission valley in the 92108 zip code. The chiropractic doctors have decades of experience and have collectively treated thousands of patients over the years. They have set up a toll free 24 hour recorded line for those interested in getting a free report detailing some of the latest and advanced therapies to get rid of back, neck and leg ache. The number is 1-888-611-2042. To reach New Century Spine Centers directly, those interested in the treatment of back ache can call 619-630-9153. The chiropractic doctors at New Century Spine Centers are paving the way to help make the treatment of back ache more affordable than ever.

Just what is it about Encinitas California that makes it so fascinating, so special? Yes, its a gorgeous little beach town, but what makes it so very different from other beach towns in San Diego county? The answer is, in part, the fact that Encinitas is still lost in time " back in the 1960s " when California was a simpler place. But you can still experience some of that feel by visiting the following must see places:

1. Take A Walk In A Rainforest

Quail Botanical Gardens consists of more than 30 acres dedicated to the conservation of endangered and rare plants from around the world. Every day tours and nature walks take visitors down scenic trails, through unique gardens, desert gardens, rare bamboo groves, native plant gardens, a tropical rainforest, climate landscapes of the Mediterranean, a succulent garden, a tropical fruit garden and a one-of-a-kind children's garden. The Gardens are a lovely and peaceful " a place where you can see myriad butterflies, birds and an occasional rabbit hopping across your path. Here you will find a special place where you can easily spend an entire day simply enjoying the nature and all its beauty " a garden that everyone will enjoy.

2. Learn To Surf

Kahuna Bobs Surf School has been a local legend in Encinitas for nearly 25 years. His distinctive and engaging teaching style puts brand new surfers at ease during his group or private instruction. In 2009, the City of Encinitas awarded Kahuna Bob with an exclusive surf-lesson license at the best beginner surfing beach in Encinitas, Beacons Beach, where the waves break perfectly for beginning surfers.

3. Become A Beach Boy (or Girl)

World renown Swamis Beach was made famous in 1963 by the Beach Boys hit song Surfin USA. Only two blocks from downtown Encinitas on U.S. Highway 101, Swamis still draws the finest surfers in the world on a daily basis, making for wonderful watching from the cliffs above. A mammoth wooden staircase with built-in benches takes you down to the beach. The picnic tables along the cliff edge at the top are a breathtaking spot to sit and take in the sweeping views of the ocean and witness phenomenal surfing feats.

4. Take In A Movie " At A Real-Life Movie House

Do you remember what the old-time movie theaters felt like? You can relive that experience by taking in a film at La Paloma Theatre. They offer a bit of everything from first-run movies to art movies (think Rocky Horror Picture Show) plus surfing and snowboarding film premieres. La Paloma was built in the 1920s and takes you back in time. Plus, the popcorn is to die for.

5. Meditate At A Temple

Swami Yoganandas philosophy of love and introspection has attracted tens of thousands of worshipers and followers from all around the world ever since he came to Encinitas in 1936 and built the Self-Realization Temple on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The serene and gorgeous grounds with lush gardens and quiet Koi ponds are open free-of-charge to you every day where you can breathe deeply, relax and meditate to the sound of the pounding surf far below.

6. Work On Your Tan

Moonlight Beach is one of the top five most popular beaches in San Diego and is only a block from downtown Encinitas. You wont find a better beach to work on your tan, go boogie-boarding, enjoy a picnic, play a pick-up game of volleyball, try your hand at surfing or body surfing, people-watch, work on reading that novel or simply relax. There is lots of parking, beach-gear rentals, clean bathrooms and showers, a great childrens playground and cute lunch shop.

7. Watch The Sun Set Over The Ocean From Your Private Hot Tub

Ann Dunham is the hostess at the Inn at Moonlight Beach, a very romantic inn overlooking Moonlight Beach. Sunsets are perfect at Anns inn overlooking both the Pacific Ocean and the quaint beach town of Encinitas. Previous guest have called it a magical place of sand, sea, sun and surf and many anniversaries and honeymoons have taken place here. Be sure to ask Ann about the Penthouse Suite. Inn At Moonlight Beach, 105 N. Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas CA 92024

Terry Hunefeld retired as CEO of a San Diego training corporation to follow his love of exploring the ocean to study seabirds and marine animals. Hunefeld and his wife Ann Dunham own the Inn At Moonlight Beach in Encinitas near Del Mar and San Diego. For more information visit: Solana Beach Bed and Breakfasts or Carlsbad B&B.

San Diego is a vivacious city that is great to go to. The downtown area is quite enjoyed by tourists. The Gaslamp neighborhood as it's identified is a feast to the eye featuring a stunning variety of sizeable & dramatic old buildings that truly showcase their look. Thanks to some being more than a hundred years old they are a have to see for each visitor.

The Victorians definitely knew how to design outstanding and long lasting buildings & a variety of nightclubs, cafes & restaurants, stores and theatres now occupies them & has prolonged their life & enabled them to live on into the 21st century. To arrive at the beating heart of the Gaslamp area you only need to walk along 4th & 5th Avenue.

A successful supplement to the neighborhood is the Horton Plaza & Horton Plaza Park. An obvious feature is the first ever water fountain to contain electric illumination. This was a truly ground breaking achievement. The brain who designed it was Alonzo Horton as you might have worked out.

Whenever you are thinking how the Gaslamp quarter acquired it is moniker, you most likely won't be astonished to read it is because of the gas lamps that were used to remove darkness from the neighborhood at the turn of the last century. Although the lamps are departed the name stays as a lovely reminder of early technology.

Big stores have come into the Gaslamp district as it has become so popular. Macy's is naturally notably well-liked but there are over 100 stores for you to call on with lots of little idiosyncratic and independent stores providing colourful & unusual gifts. If you don't wish to miss out on the latest movie releases then head for the multi-screen at Horton Plaza.

With its fabulous local climate, shops & actions to do San Diego is getting to be a very popular getaway for both family vacations & small breaks. From the wonderful malls and structures of the Gaslamp quarter to the coast and aquariums you are spoilt for choice.
