Padres will hold on and edge out the Giants by 1 or 2 games. San Diego has the best pitching staff in the league and they picked up Ludwick plus Tejeada to complete that lineup. Giants will get the wildcard.

Joe C. is correct.

I'm just putting in my two-cents here and suggesting using the intersection of Mission Bay Drive and Balboa Avenue. I think it's the busiest intersection in San Diego. It backs up the I-5 traffic for miles during the evening commute.

Under perfect conditions it's a 20 minute drive from Mira Mesa to Broadway downtown. In reality count on 30-45 minutes or more at rush hours.

Comment on How Is the Weather in San Diego in October and November? by Joe C

October is one of the best times of the year. Hot days, cool nights, clear skies, low humidity. There is also a good chance of Santa Anna like conditions, which means hot air blowing in off the desert. IMO September-October are the best weather months of the year. November can be a bit tricky. Chance of rain increases and you could get a storm coming in from the north with cold winds. The seasons change here like a light switch. There will be a change in weather patterns and one day it's summer, the next it's fall-winter. This usually happens in November.

San Diego is a great vacation spot: best Zoo in the world, the Wild Animal Park, dozens of museums in Balboa Park, Shedd Aquarium, Sea World, La Jolla, beaches, surfing, sailing, casinos, NFL Football. ML Baseball, etc. You are also close to Disneyland and L.A. Be aware that the ocean temperature is never warm here, It is a northern current and even in the summer, it almost never breaks 70 degrees.

The Mexican authorities do not ask for papers unless they see something suspicious like bringing in weapons or prescription pills or underage minors without parents. They welcome your business and money. It's on the way back to San Isidro that the U.S. border patrol/customs will start asking for passports and items you have to declare (they have a x-ray baggage scanner for those walking in).

Go to the zoo. The Wild Animal Park is a valley that's set up to look like an African plain, where the animals can roam around in a somewhat natural habitat. You could wander around for quite awhile at the Wild Animal Park and just see a bunch of native African species of shrubs or something like that, without seeing any animals. Also, someone mentioned the tram. They shut that down last year, because it was getting old and unreliable (it kept breaking down, stranding people in the middle of the park for hours).

The zoo is full of various exhibits that are packed together into a smaller park. It is hilly. But, you can start at the top and work your way to the bottom of the zoo, and then take a long escalator back up to the top. The zoo also has a petting zoo for kids, where they can harass ... er ... pet some barnyard animals. One thing, though: This year, the zoo stopped letting people bring in their own food (they want to make more money by selling their high-priced junk). So, expect to have to pay for food and drink.

Sea World has a bunch of ocean type of exhibits (pools of dolphins and stuff, as well as an enclosed aquarium building). But, mostly the big attraction is the shows. And, you spend a lot of time sitting in the sun waiting for and watching the next show, because the seating is uncovered. I think Sea World is better for kids aged 5 and older.

You can have a heck of a time getting back into the U.S. They can delay you for hours, and there is a $500.00 fine. don't know when they have/or may start enforcing the fine.

I have discovered from personal and professional experience that depending on what the travel itinerary is, it can actually be cheaper to take a flight with 1 stop; in your case, Belfast, Ireland to San Diego, CA(Traveller and Owner of a Travel Agency).

Kindly email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me directly through Yahoo Messenger; I have some great news for you regarding your flight itinerary.

There ought to be several Mexican bus companies running buses between Tijuana and Guadalajara. Mexico's bus network is more extensive and generally superior to the USA's.
Ticketbus.com.mx has some information, although I've heard its not a reliable way to buy tickets. You could just buy them when you get there.

There are deluxe buses which cost more but are very comfortable, first class buses which are pretty good except for sometimes skimpy leg room, and maybe second class buses which are somewhat cheaper and on a long route like this is probably an old first-class bus, but without A/C and no guarantee of a seat unless you board early enough.
